Got questions?
We’ve got the answers to all the most commonly asked questions about SEO and digital marketing.
There are certain areas where results can improve quickly, and others where it can take some time for the ball to start rolling.
If you need to get things going quickly, it’s best to build that into your strategy right from the start, so you’re front-loading your efforts with the work that can have the biggest impact in the shortest time.
SEO is a time-intensive process, it’s definitely an area where you need to spend the time to do it right in order to see results. If you’re relying on AI generated content or quick shortcuts, it’s likely that you aren’t actually going to make any headway.
So you may be spending less, but you’re not getting real benefits.
Services such as article research and writing, conversion rate optimisation or landing page creation typically take days, rather than hours, so you need an SEO service that allows enough time to do these tasks exceptionally, and actually get you the results you need.
When it comes to keyword research, it really isn’t about “how many” keywords you’re ranking for, it’s more about finding the terms your potential customers use.
This could be information on how to solve a particular problem, questions about a specific subject, technical information, comparisons. And part of the research process is to analyse these keywords to see if they’re suitably relevant, popular, and easy to rank for.
Then, you can structure your website, and produce content that targets those areas, which should enable you to rank for those keywords.
But it’s all about quality. Not quantity.
Every business is different, with different audiences and different competitive landscapes. It’s important that your SEO agency doesn’t simply provide you with the same package they give to everyone, because those strategies aren’t always going to work.
For example, businesses that are geographically restricted can get huge value out of Local SEO, but this may only bring very small benefits to a UK-wide business.
So, part of the SEO process is identifying the opportunities, and putting together a plan that makes the most of them.
This may include:
- Content marketing
- Link building
- Local SEO
- PPC
- Social media marketing
- Affiliate marketing
- Influencer marketing
- Online advertising
And even traditional and offline marketing strategies.
AI may have changed the way SEO works, but it’s far from obsolete. AI in search has meant that some marketing methods no longer bring in quite the same results as previously - particularly in the number of organic clicks and users.
It has also changed user behaviour, with users using search to identify reputable brands, and then specifically returning to them.
So you may find that people are now referring to digital marketing not as SEO, but as GEO, which stands for “Generative Engine Optimisation”, and refers to getting better rankings in AI powered search, as well as across platforms and media.
Many of the methods to rank well for GEO are very similar to the current best practices for content marketing, but with an emphasis on wider reach and multi-platform posting.
So SEO isn’t obsolete, but it is evolving, and it’s important to keep up with these big changes.
