About the Client
We had been working with Leamington Blinds for several years, providing SEO services for a website designed by a 3rd party. While we’d achieved fantastic improvements in that time, we knew the only way to kick the website into an extra gear was with a redesign.
Improving search visibility
More detailed product pages
Easier user experience
Straightforward quotations

The Challenge
Content and user experience were the twin pillars of this project. We wanted to provide the useful content that search engines would love, but that would also answer common questions from customers. And we needed to make the user journey incredibly simple, with an easy quote process that reduced admin time for the business as well.
Research and strategy
Having worked with Leamington Blinds for such a long time, we already had a really good outline of the keyphrases we’d want to be targeting for our SEO campaign.
But we’re not writing pages just for search engines - we wanted to provide customers with all the key information they might want to know too.
So we decided that we’d need to completely rethink our product pages, ensuring they had useful keywords, but also making sure that key information about how to buy, fitting and installation, and different available designs too.
In-depth product pages
The old product pages were very restrictive, only allowing for a paragraph of text. But our research had shown us that for better UX and for better visibility, we needed to provide much better, in-depth content.
We developed a new structure for the product pages, including sections about the fitting and installation services, key information about the blinds themselves, additional features such as motorisation or blackout fabrics, a range of swatches and more.
And at key points on the page, we introduced CTAs for people to either get a quote, or find out more.

Find my blind feature
Another feature we introduced was our blind and shutter quiz. This quick and easy tool asks some simple questions about what you want from your blinds or shutters, and then recommends a product to you.
Internal linking
Another really significant part of creating a great user experience on this website was through internal linking.
That’s because the products aren’t as clear cut as you’d first imagine. For example, you can have roller blinds that are also blackout, and electric. So while each type of blind needs its own page, we had to create clear linking structures, so that people can navigate to the information that really matters to them.
This also helps with search engines, as building a network of clear internal links helps Google understand what each individual page is about.
Fewer questions - more quotations
With better information on the pages, Leamington Blinds saw a big decrease in the number of people asking common questions about samples, fitting and measuring, saving time on administration.
But even more significantly, by including measurements in the online quote form, they could cut out an entire step in their process, and provide quotes faster, and with more accuracy. This also helped reduce their admin burden.
The Outcomes
In the year since re-launch, the website’s performance grew to a whole new level. We had already dramatically increased performance since taking over SEO of the website, but this evolution became a revolution.
Not only was this version of the website getting more visibility and more users, we got a huge jump in conversions too, making a big difference to Leamington Blinds’ bottom line.
