Introducing Tutor Gym

This week we launched Tutor Gym, a new online tutoring platform.

About Tutor Gym

Tutor Gym gives school students access to live, small-group tutoring through a straightforward monthly membership. Instead of committing to the same lesson at the same time each week, members can browse an online timetable, choose the sessions that suit them and fit tutoring around school, family life and other commitments.

Think of it like booking classes at a Gym.

Tutor Gym has initially launched with primary classes, with GCSE sessions following in September.

One platform for the whole experience

We worked closely with founders Alex and Harry to turn their idea into a reality.

Users can create profiles, choose a membership, browse upcoming classes, book sessions and join live online tutoring from one account.

The platform also handles recurring payments and session allowances, while providing dedicated areas for tutors and administrators to manage classes, attendance and learning materials.

On the tech side, we used Laravel for the backend, with Next.js handling the front end, styled with Tailwind CSS. The resulting web app is fast, responsive and gives us a great foundation for future growth.

Ready for the next stage

Launching initially with primary classes, Tutor Gym has a great opportunity to establish its initial community and develop the service ahead of the full launch and introduction of GCSE tutoring in September.

Harry and Alex were brilliant to work with throughout the project, and we're looking forward to seeing where they take Tutor Gym next.
