What I do well

I love the artistic side of design. For me, great design is about understanding art and composition. I develop my skills as a painter, cartoonist and sketcher because it is my passion but this also helps me bring my digital work to life.

I love working on logo design too. I like the challenge of taking all the messages and superlatives a company wants to portray and communicating them through shape, font, spacing and colour.

I'm sure my best commercial trait is that I can understand a brief and deliver a representative visual concept very quickly. I also don't take criticism personally; I prefer clients to tell me what they don't like so I can be sure I deliver a final design that they genuinely love.

What I do badly

I probably should tell clients they are wrong more. It would save me a lot of time in the long run, but I prefer clients to arrive at the same conclusion themselves. I draw the line at requests for comic sans though... even I have limits!

About me

I have recently taken up tennis. I'm not sure how I got into it, but you'll find me getting whupped most Thursday evenings on the court.

Most people think of me as mild mannered, but the shackles come off during competition. I just hate losing. We had a console afternoon once as part of our office Christmas party. I think the rest of the team were surprised and scared in equal measure.

Obviously I spend a lot of time doing my art, but the rest of the time you'll probably see me enjoying a beer and gobbling filthy kebabs or KFC (now that's art!).
