Copywriting & Accounts
What I do well
To make your website as attractive as possible for your customers, I observe the holy trinity of copy writing for the web.
Focus on the customer
Your website is a fairly one-way conversation, you talk and your customers respond by contacting you... or not. The best way to get a positive response in any conversation is by taking an interest in the other person. Talk about them and it's much more likely that they'll stay interested.
Keep it clear and simple
"The company does this, for people in this area." It might sound over-simplistic, but that's the most important thing for your visitors to know. You've only got a few seconds to tell people they're in the right place - don't waste them with introductions or waffle.
Make it look as good as it sounds
What looks acceptable in Word often looks odd on the web. Big blocks of text are immediately off-putting, and 50 words go a lot further than you think. It's also vital to make sure there are no glaring spelling errors - pedants like me are always around to punish you for it!
What I do badly
Don't be fooled by the smile, I am a very scary person to argue with (see Tom for details!).
I get terrible motion sickness on trains, planes and automobiles (but weirdly not on boats), so I love travelling to London once a week.
I probably eat too much cake... I personally don't see this as a bad thing, but it does make a lot of crumbs.
About me
I love festivals and music, you'll find me at Glastonbury every year, not listening to Jay-z or Beyonce.
I love vegging... my perfect weekend would be to just watch geeky American TV, cartoon comedy and eat junk food.
I am an insanely fast reader. I can read a whole book in under 2 seconds (or something like that).
I am a golf widow. I'm not even joking about that... But what's more disturbing is that I now actually ENJOY watching golf (curse you Chris!!). I went to the BMW golf open this year, and it was awesome!
